It’s not autumn just yet! So just as I had got out the chunky knit throws, lit all my autumnal candles and header to tkmaxx to pick up the pumpkin spiced skinny syrup everyone has been raving around, another heat wave hits!
Not that I am complaining really, I mean it is still August after all. But that means the cropped jeans and denim shorts have been back out in full swing as we have hit almost 30 degrees again in the UK this bank holiday weekend, and there hasn’t been a better time to show you my latest pieces I have added to my summer wardrobe.
I actually didn’t think I would get a chance to wear them again in the UK until next year, I have a holiday next week so I knew I would be in them soon, but hello sunshine and hello white pins – I apologize as I didn’t think they would be venturing out just yet and I have been pretty laxed with my tanning routine, so hello paley but hey ho.
So this post is in collaboration with Femme Luxe Finery, who as you know is are of my favourite online fashion brands! I have picked three items to show you that were kindly gifted to me.
The first item I chose was these light wash distressed flare jeans. I was instantly drawn to them, due to the distressed bottoms. I don’t think I’ve ever seen jeans like this before and I have been a big fan of the flared jeans trend this season so these were like the ultimate combo.
I would say these are mid rising jeans, not as high waisted as my others but definitely a pair that you can wear with a tucked in shirt; which is how I like to style them.
I think these are quite dressy jeans, like a plain tee, and a fancy pair of heels kind of jeans, which are completely different to anything else I own. The fit I would say is quite relaxed, they are a structured jean, so not that stretchy figure hugging material, but I liked that as it made a nice change actually.
I think they do fit me different than on the model, potentially because I don’t have much of a bum to fill them out, I got these jeans in a size 10, but I probably could have sized down due to that; then again like I said I am quite into the relaxed fit, it gives me slightly mom jeans vibes.
The next item I chose was these acid wash extreme rip denim shorts – I found these again to be unusual, and with my holiday next week in mind, I wanted a new pair of denim shorts that were a bit different.
What I love most about these are the fact they are longer at the back, so I absolutely love the distressed denim trend on shorts, but I always find they are so short at the back, when you walk you end up showing half the holiday resort your bum cheeks, and I don’t know about you, but I am not really a fan of that, so these having that extra length on the back are perfect.
I got these shorts again in a size 10 and I would say they are true to size, just enough room for a few ice creams haha.
To go with the shorts, I picked this white chain print long sleeved shirt, I felt like this would be something I could get a lot of wear out of whatever the season, and I am a sucker for anything chain print.
The quality of this shirt is brilliant, I have to say I am always dubious about buying white shirts, just in case they are see-through. I still haven’t managed to find a nice white comfy bra so it is a rarity I wear white, but this shirt is really thick.
It’s also breathable which is another rarity in thick quality clothing, but I could 100% have this shirt on in a heat wave and still be able to get on with my day, dressed up for going out or to work, or dressed down with jeans and trainers, I feel like this shirt is so versatile, I want to say they did it in black too. Or if not they definitely had some other chain print pieces in black so if your like me and love that print, I would definitely check them out.
But yeah so these are my latest finds, I hope you liked how I have styled them up.
What have you been up to over this bank holiday weekend!?
